Hammertoe

Typically occurs on the second, third or fourth toe when the toe bends forward. This bending puts pressure on the toe causing pain and often results in corns or calluses.

Treatment

Typical hammertoe correction utilizes wires (k-wires) implanted through the toe to correct the bending. However, these wires remain in your toe(s) for up to 6 weeks after surgery. There is significant risk of infection and additional pain and discomfort if you bump the wires during daily activities.

For patients who do not like the idea of having these wires sticking out of their toes for up to 6 weeks after surgery are ideal candidates for Life Spine’s ROGUE™ Hammertoe System. In addition, there are no wires sticking out of the foot and no need to return fo revision or removal surgery.
